Dear JETAA Members
The Consulate General of Japan will again be visiting universities in Scotland and North East England to promote the JET programme to students.
We are looking for ex-Jets to assist on the following dates:
Aberdeen University: Thu 25th Sept, 12-2pm
St. Andrews University: Thu 2nd Oct, 1-2pm
Durham University: Tue 7th Oct, 3-4pm
Glasgow University: Tue 14th Oct, 1-2pm
Northumbria University: Thu 16th Oct, 1-2pm
Newcastle University: Thu 16th Oct, 4-5pm
Edinburgh University: Wed 22nd Oct, 1-4pm - Global Experience Fair
Dundee University: Fri 24th Oct, 1-2pm
Glasgow Caledonian University: Wed 29th Oct, 1-2pm
You will be required to give a talk using a pre-prepared PowerPoint presentation from the Embassy of Japan, and answer any questions the students may have. A member of staff from the Consulate will also be on hand to help out. The presentation will last no longer than one hour and you will receive payment of approximately 60.
We also require an ex-JET to help man an information desk at the following careers fair:
Edinburgh University Global Experience Fair on Wednesday 22nd October between 1 and 4pm
You will be required to distribute information on the programme and answer any questions. Again, a Consulate staff member will be present. The payment amount is still to be confirmed but will be over 60.
The Consulate is looking for one person per presentation who has ideally participated in the programme in the last few years, but interest from all ex-JETs is welcome. Unfortunately, we cannot provide transport or cover travel expenses.
If you would like to help, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org providing your name, address, and when you were on the JET programme.
Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.
