Thursday, 15 May - Thursday, 17 July (10 weeks) 6.30 - 8.30pm. Japan Local Government Centre, 15 Whitehall, London SW1A 2DD, £50 for 10 weeks, priority given to Japan Society and JET AA members.

The Japan Society and the Japan Local Government Centre are delighted to offer members of the Japan Society and JET AA the chance to develop their language skills on a new course. Classes will be conducted by teachers from the SOAS Japanese Teacher Training programme.

Can you get by in Japanese in every day situations? Recognise approximately 250 - 300 kanji? Are approximately at Level 3 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test? Wish that you were able to communicate effectively and appropriately in a work environment? Then this 10 week course is for you.

Each session will start with a 90 minute lesson, after which there will be a period for informal discussion with refreshments. Each week, a guest from the Japanese community in London will be invited to kick off the discussion with a short talk, in Japanese, about their work. Participants thus have the opportunity to put into practice immediately the things they have been studying and, at the same time, gain useful insights into the Japanese business and cultural communities in the UK.

There are just 12 places, so you are advised to book quickly. To do so, please contact the Japan Society on tel: 020 7828 6330 or email: hiroko.kimura@japansociety.org.uk.
