The Embassy of Japan have agreed to support JETAA UK in establishing Alumni Japanese Language Courses or participating in existing courses run by Cactus Language Training. The company already runs ten week courses at different language levels in London. It is proposed that a subsidy could be provided to former JETs who wish to join one of these courses. The company also has centres in Bristol, Cardiff and Manchester, although Japanese courses are not currently run at these locations. Should there be sufficient demand at a particular level, we would explore the viability of running subsidised courses at these locations.
At this stage, it would be really useful to gauge the level of interest for the courses in the different locations. We have set up a thread on the forums, so if you are interested in taking part, please post a message (this is just to get a rough idea of numbers - so don't worry you are not committing at this stage.)
