JETAAUK Chair’s Spring Message

JETAAUK has been busy recently, with our Annual General Meeting in February and our 30th Anniversary Reception hosted at the Houses of Parliament by the British–Japanese Parliamentary Group in March.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t invite every British JET Programme alumni (since there are more than 10,000 of us) but some 200 guests attended, including JETAA volunteers who enjoyed networking in the stunning location.

It was a fabulous evening and a great chance to meet up with JETAA volunteers, some of whom I first met in 1999 when I lived in London.

We have lots of events coming up and chances for you to get involved so please do become an active member. We are looking for alumni to help out with JET pre-departure meet-ups in the regions by chatting about their Japan experiences to outgoing JETs. More information will go on the website and social media soon but here are the dates of the events so far.

Midlands (Nottingham): 3rd June, 2pm

North West (Liverpool): 3rd June

North West (Manchester): 16th June

London: 15th July (am)

Scotland (Edinburgh): 3rd June, 1pm

We are also looking for JET alumni and businesses to take part in our Career Seminar for returning JETs on October 6th.
