JETAA North West Bounenekai 2017

On December 16th, JETAA NW had our annual bounenkai at Yuzu in Manchester.  It is a nice little izakaya with authentic food and drink that will take you right back to your time in Japan.  We highly recommend it.

We had a nice turnout of people: current committee members, previous committee members who want to get involved again, and some new faces who we haven’t seen before.  We even had an ex-JET come over from the North East to join us.  It was lovely to have such a variety of people to talk to about not only our experiences in Japan but also our hopes for keeping connections with Japan now we’re all in the UK.  There were some great ideas so I hope to incorporate them in our list of events for next year.

It has been a fabulous year for JETAA NW.  I feel we’ve had some wonderful events that have enabled us to make connections with various places and establishments within the NW as well as get us known amongst the local Japanese communities.  More alumni seem to have been encouraged to be involved too which is just what we hope for!  I will be so glad if this continues and we see many more of you at our events this year as there is sure to be something that suits everyone. Many  thanks to everyone who contributed to JETAA NW in 2017.

Best wishes, from

Corrina Ellis - JETAA North West Chair
