JETAA May 2022 Events Round Up

National

​​​There will be national event this summer that everyone is encouraged to go to.

The North West chapter will be hosting a Matsuri at Tatton Park (Knutsford WA16 6SG) in partnership with JSNW on the 13th August from 11am to 4pm. 

The London, Scotland and North East chapters will also have an event at the same time. Last year we connected digitally across all of the chapters, but this year we are hope for more face to face interaction. Look out for more information about this soon!

 

London

JETAA London will be attending the Kawanabe Kyōsai exhibit on Sunday, June 12 at 3:00pm at the Royal Academy of Arts, and we'd love for you to join us. Tickets are £17, but JETAA London is pleased to be able to offer a discounted price of £12 to those who join us. This exhibit is only open until June 19th 2022, and there is limited availability, so if you'd like to attend with us then please sign up using the link below as soon as possible.

We are also trying to gauge interest for a trip to see the RSC adaptation of My Nighbour Totoro this October. It's a while in advance but it is going to take some planning, so we could really apreciate knowing if anyone wants to join us.

North East

On Thursday Thursday 17th of June at 19:00 the North East chapter is having an informal social get together on Zoom.

Our lessons last year were so successful last year, we are expanding and offering both lessons with Ayae sesei and a chance to chat in Japanese with Yuka san!

Ayae sensei will be returning to teach intermediate level, hosting monthly lessons for up to 8 students. 

Yuka san will be holding monthly Eikaiwa meetings so you can use your Japanese skills in a more casual setting. Up to 6 spaces a month are available.

Scotland

Our next event will be in Glasgow on May 28th at 11 am: Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum visit followed by a picnic near the gallery. 
We are aiming to have at least one in-person event every month.
In June we are planning to visit The Japanese Garden Cowden (The first and only woman designed garden of this nature worldwide!) and Stewart Woodland in Dollar, Scotland. 
We are also hoping to have a barbecue in July or August.
