JETAA London is one of the largest chapters in the international network of JETAA chapters. Every year, a committee of volunteers is elected to run the chapter and organise social, cultural, educational, volunteer/fundraising, and professional development and networking events for its members. These events are run with the joint aims of promoting Japan-UK relations, Japan's local governments, and the JET Programme, and assisting our members to keep in touch with Japan after returning to the UK.

We are always looking for people to help with events and networking, from pub nights to networking events to volunteer opportunities.

Hannah Thomas

I was a JET in Tsuno Town, Kochi Prefecture from 2014–2018 and now work in the Civil Service in London. I’ve been involved with JETAA London since returning to the UK, first as Treasurer and now as Chair.

As Chair, I help lead the committee, organise events and create opportunities for alumni to stay connected with Japan and the wider JET community. I particularly enjoy bringing people together through social and cultural events and supporting both returning and prospective JETs.
