I was a JET in Omuta-Shi in Fukuoka-Ken 1992-1993. My favourite memory has to be getting married to Mari Suwa. We now live in Paris and have three grown up children who speak Japanese.
I have been working in journalism for the last 30 years including 17 years as an editor at Bloomberg News in Paris. I now work freelance for various outlets, and publish my own, free to read Substack on development issues, called the Dark Side of Development.
