A leading supplier of specialist Asian foods in the UK is recruiting a Sales Executive to support and develop key foodservice accounts. The Sales Executive will support account management, develop customer relationships, and contribute to commercial growth in the UK restaurant and retail market. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their sales career to develop towards a Key Account Manager position within a growing international food business. The ideal candidate has sales or customer-facing commercial experience, strong relationship-building skills, and a commercial mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Main responsibilities

Support the day-to-day management of key foodservice customer accounts and build long-term relationships. Identify sales growth opportunities, improve profitability and support product expansion. Prepare customer presentations, proposals and business reviews, and support commercial negotiations. Analyse sales performance, prepare forecasts, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure product availability. Support new product launches, promotional activities and commercial projects from planning to implementation. Coordinate with Purchasing, Marketing, Technical, NPD, Logistics and other departments to deliver customer requirements. Provide excellent customer service, resolve issues, and maintain accurate customer records and sales reports. Represent the company at customer meetings, trade exhibitions and food industry events.

Ideal candidate

Experience in sales, account management or another customer-facing commercial role. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. Commercial awareness and willingness to learn. Good Microsoft Excel and Office skills. Full UK driving licence. Fluent English communication skills. Experience in food, FMCG, hospitality, restaurant groups or retail customers is an advantage. Experience using ERP systems such as SAP is beneficial. Understanding of Japanese culture and some Japanese skill would be an advantage. Positive, proactive and adaptable, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Conditions

Location: North London, UK. Working style: hybrid (almost fully remote, customer visits directly from home possible). Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 per annum plus commission (depending on experience). Job type: permanent, full-time. Working hours: 9:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. Start: ASAP.
